Why is it that I always think to update the blog before school starts? Maybe it’s because I am too busy during the school year trying to keep everything together. Or maybe it’s because I work all day and then work all night at the house. Then again, maybe it’s because I am exhausted from keeping up with my three boys. Yep, I’ll go with the last one.
Timothy got his open house postcard last night from school. Going to first grade is a big deal just ask him. He is very excited to start. Mrs. Vice is going to be his teacher. I know very little about the first grade teachers so the adventure of first grade will begin on August 15. I have been looking over the supple list and am a bit puzzled because there are no glue sticks on the list. This is going to be a problem for us. For those of you that know my Timothy, Elmer’s liquid school glue is not Timothy’s favorite thing. I have seen him have a major meltdown about glue. Yes, glue, you read that correctly. He says it feels weird and he is NOT going to use it. So, the practicing with liquid school glue has begun. The Minney house will be gluing instead of reading our three books to play his video games. I have decided it is very difficult to be 6.
Well, Tyler’s adventures are a bit simpler. He has started a new school. Tyler has been on the waiting list since September of 2010. We have started. He loves it. It reminds me so much of Oaklawn Baptist. We still miss Mrs. Debbie and Ms. Johnny. But nevertheless, we have found him a new place. There is no more crying pealing him off of me in the mornings. Tyler walks in like a big boy holding my hand, and when he gets to this classroom he sits down at the table to eat his breakfast. Then he turns around and says, “BYE MOM!” In his voice that sounds like he wants to tell me why are you still here, I got this, you are embarrassing me. Yep, that’s Tyler. Ryan and I have decided that he going to be my little jock. He loves to be outside. I hate that is too hot to go outside right now. At the new big boy school, that is what we are calling it because I told him that the last daycare he was at was the baby school because we were potty training. Now that we have the potty thing now we can go to big boy school. Anyways, they have the ozone colors on the wall. If the color is orange then they do not go outside. We go in everyday and Tyler has to check the color so he knows if he gets to go play outside.
The boys now have separate rooms and I think this was the best thing we did for the boys. They each have their own place to play and call their own. My sister and I never shared a room and liked being able to visit her in her room and then go back to mine when she would get mad at me. Brother love is a bit different. They don’t through each other out they just fight it out until one starts crying. I haven’t quite figured out all of the boy stuff yet.
Ryan is finally in the last year of school. Can I get a “Thank You Lord!”? I am so excited for him to be finished. No, really I am. I can’t wait for him to do something with all of this school stuff we have been doing for the last 7 years. Now, the prayers have switched focus to getting us through the last year and giving us direction on what to do next. Is it open a practice or find a job? Either way prayers are much needed and appreciated.
And, as for me, I am finding my way at the new job. It is great. Things have come together nicely. I feel I have accomplished important things that they disparately needed. The website is finished, the new brochures are finished and printed (they look amazing!), and our promotion items are innovated and new. Thanks to lots of contacts I have made over the years that made putting all of this together in the last 6 month possible. You know who you are. I would not have been able to keep sane without them. As for the boys club, something’s never change and you get use to wearing your heels and continuously surprising them.

WOW ~ Life Changes on a Dime
Here we go the new run down on what going on with the Minney's. We have moved to Benton, I took a new marketing job, Timothy and Tyler both had to change schools, and Ryan started at the AG's office.
WOW! That is all I keep saying. I love being in the marketing field, I guess when you can't be quiet this is what you are suppose to do. Many think that sales and marketing are the same thing. Let me tell you a secret. They are not even in the same time zone! I really missed being in the environmental side of engineering. I like civil but I know environmental better ~ I guess I blame Lisa, a very dear friend and one of my mentors. She can do anything that she wants and still amazes me everyday. I love calling her and brain storming.
Timothy has started at Bauxite's elementary school Pine Haven. So far so good - happy faces everyday. And Lord knows that is a miracle for Timothy. He had such a challenging year at PreK in the Lakeside School District. I think that it was more teacher than Timothy or at least that is what I think because we have not had any issues.
Tyler is at Union Station Daycare. He cries everyday when I leave. It breaks my heart. I remember changing Timothy at 3 and the time he had. Although, it is official he is potty trained! Thank you Lord! After many prayers and pullups we have been in underwear and not turning back. Now to make him not pee outside is the challenge. It decided one that he wanted to pee on a tree ~ so now everyday it is a fight to get him to potty in the potty when we get home because he loves the huge backyard at the new house. At least that is what we have to call it because Tyler says it's not home it's the new house. Granted he is yelling it at the top of his lungs.
I love the new house, new job and new adventures but I miss the friends we have in Hot Springs. We are not that far away and Regan is going to still have to do my hair because I don't even want to think about changing that. I think when moving you have three major things that you must find that really stink ~ doctor, good grocery store and a new hair dresser. Well lucky for me Regan said she would take me on Saturdays! I was thrilled but this was after she told me she was mad at me for moving. I am sure we will have many more adventures to come in the new house!

Changing
Well, the Minney Family has officially survived Ryan's first year of law school. He finished his finals last week. We are so glad to have him back home for a bit. I most of all because now I have help running a little interference with the two TO's at my house. Timothy is getting to be so big. Yesterday, he told me I am ready to go to college at Dad's school. And in his very next breath he says he is going into the FEI, meaning the FBI. I don't think I have laughed that hard in awhile. Timothy loves his movies and he told me that was where G-Force was. I think I am still laughing about that.
Then we have Tyler. If I get this kid out of diapers I think it will be a miracle. He will poop in he potty but will NOT te-te. I don't know what to do. With Timothy is was the exact opposite, I know that kids are different but wow, mine are night and day. Looking back I would have to say that Katherine and I were the same way. I keep thinking of that song anything you can do I can do better, I can do anything better than you. That is how my sister and I were and I think my boys are the same way.
Timothy is ready for school to be out so he can go to Kindergarten. I am not ready for that change. He already looks like a big kid, and now he is going to big kid school. He loves being a Lakeside.
Tyler has a great teacher at Oaklawn Baptist. I don't know what I would do without Ms. Kara. Tyler has been playing in the step above him class lately and the girls in his class to do not like it. He is my little lover boy. All of the girls like him, but he only talks about Hailey. Hailey has a twin sister Katelyn and the girls love to play with him but Tyler always has to sit with Hailey on the mat when we get to school and at all meal time. He is too funny about it. He will just sit there and talk to Hailey and when he gets home he says I like Hailey. It is adorable.
What can I say things are changing and I am excited for the time ahead of us!

Blogging
Ok, I have officially joined this craziest of being a blogger. I think I finally just decided that we have family and friends everywhere that I just needed to go ahead and start a blog.
We have been busy this past month and looking forward to this spring weather. Ryan is having fun in law school and I love my job at B & F. What a blessing it is to know that things have come along way for us and how thankful I am to have the support of great friends and my wonderful family as we go through all of our adventures.
Timothy is doing good at Lakeside Pre-K. Although, he tells me everyday that I just want to go to college Mom. When do I get to go to college like Dad. Oh, my Timothy, you will get there someday!
Tyler is all boy and all 2! His favorite movie is Chicken Little. We watch it about a million times a day. He loves to say Yo! and Oh, Snap! from the movie. Disney did a great job with that one!
We just got back from a trip to Disney world and will be returning hopefully in 2012. Tyler will be old enough to go and have some fun then. I can wait!
